HUD Graphics Conflicts
A common issue reported in the community is the inability to change or view certain HUD graphics (like watch hands or status chips) while the media player is active.
Why are my graphics missing?
MINIMAA uses a Layered HUD Architecture. To prevent visual overlapping that ruins the minimalist aesthetic, the launcher may hide certain elements when others occupy the same space.
1. Media Player Overlays
The most common cause is the Media Player HUD being set to “Center” alignment.
- The Conflict: If you have a large analog watch graphic enabled, the Media Player HUD will take priority and hide the watch face to ensure readability.
- The Fix: Change your Media Player alignment to “Bottom” in
Settings > Home Screen > Media Feedback.
2. Experimental HUD Conflict
If you have enabled Experimental Layouts in the developer settings, some status chips (WiFi/Battery) may persist or disappear incorrectly.
- The Fix: Reset HUD visibility by toggling
Settings > Home Screen > HUD Visibility > Restore Defaults.
3. Transparent Image Bed
If you are using a custom wallpaper with high brightness, the HUD graphics may be present but invisible due to lack of contrast.
- The Fix: Enable Auto-Contrast HUD in
Settings > Appearance. This will automatically switch HUD elements between black and white based on the wallpaper’s luminance.
[!TIP] If you are a power user experiencing “ghosting” of HUD elements, try force-stopping MINIMAA in your system app settings to clear the layout cache.
