Part 18: Digital Detox

141. Digital Detox Overview

Minimaa includes a deeply integrated, powerful Digital Detox system designed to break muscle memory and curb phone addiction using intentional friction.

142. Detox Manager

The Detox Manager is where you configure exactly which apps and websites need restriction. It serves as the control center for all your focus challenges.

143. Mindful Pause

Instead of an outright block, Mindful Pause adds an intentional, forced delay before an addictive app is allowed to open, breaking your subconscious habit of tapping apps instantly.

144. Web Detox

Using Accessibility Services, Web Detox blocks or restricts targeted website URLs within your browser client to keep you off distracting sites.

145. Porn Blocker

A built-in adult content shield that prevents explicit websites from loading.

146. Selecting Apps & Websites

Within the Detox Manager, you can manually select installed apps or type in custom website URLs that you want to restrict.

147. Tough Slider

To bypass a block and earn screen time, you must complete a challenge. The Tough Slider forces you to carefully and slowly slide an on-screen edit bar to unlock access, requiring fine motor control and attention.

148. Adaptive Math

A challenge mode that forces you to solve randomized arithmetic problems (e.g., 47×13) to prove you are actively making a conscious decision to open the app.

149. Shape Challenges

An alternative to math, requiring you to correctly identify or trace specific shapes to pass the friction screen.

150. Grace Time

Submitting the correct challenge answer grants you a temporary “Grace Time” window (like 1 minute or 15 minutes) to use the application before it locks down again.

151. Go Back To Focus

The core layout screen presented during a block, actively reminding you to put your phone down and return to your life.

152. Adaptive Difficulty System

If you attempt to open a blocked app repeatedly, the penalty automatically escalates. Your first attempt might require a 15-second breathing pause; subsequent attempts scale up to 20, 30, or 45 seconds, and the math equations get progressively harder.

153. Notification Shield

Blocks pings and distracting alerts from apps you’ve placed in the Detox Manager.

154. Hide Notifications

A setting to completely hide notifications for inactive or restricted apps.

155. Hide Inactive Apps

Automatically cleans your app drawer by hiding apps you haven’t opened in a set period (3, 7, 14, or 30 days).

156. Cleanup Suggestions

Scroll to the bottom of your drawer to see an aggregated list of these unused apps. You can leave them hidden or use the shortcut to uninstall them completely.

157. Show App Usage

Toggle this on to display a small time tracker directly next to every single app in your drawer list, showing exactly how many minutes you’ve spent on them today.
