83. App Drawer Overview

The App Drawer is the central repository where all your installed applications live. By swiping up from the Home Screen, you transition from your curated layout into the full application engine. Minimaa completely revamps this space; instead of a chaotic grid of brightly colored icons fighting for your attention, it presents a serene, highly organized text-based architecture that prioritizes intentionality over mindless browsing.

The Universal Search System

In traditional launchers, search bars are rudimentary tools used only when you lose an app in a messy grid. In Minimaa, the search bar is designed to be your primary method of interaction—a universal command center that bypasses traditional navigation entirely.

84. Search System

The Search System in Minimaa is deeply integrated into the OS. It doesn’t just index the names of your installed apps; it hooks into your contacts, web browsers, and third-party applications. This allows you to execute commands directly from the text field, dramatically reducing the time you spend jumping between different applications.

By default, the search bar is elegantly positioned at the top of the App Drawer. This standard placement mirrors traditional OS designs, making it instantly familiar while remaining visually unobtrusive.

For users with modern, large-format smartphones (like the Galaxy S Ultra or iPhone Max variants), reaching the top of the screen can cause significant thumb strain. Minimaa allows you to drop the search bar to the very bottom of the display, resting directly above your keyboard. This creates a seamlessly ergonomic, one-handed navigation experience.

87. Auto Keyboard

The goal of Minimaa is to eliminate friction. When “Auto Keyboard” is enabled in the Drawer Settings, your system keyboard will instantaneously pop up the precise millisecond you swipe open the App Drawer. This allows you to launch the drawer and begin typing your query in a single, fluid motion without needing to explicitly tap the search field first.

88. Auto Launch Apps

This is a defining power-user feature. When you type a query into the search bar, Minimaa constantly evaluates the results. If your query narrows the list down to exactly one single matching application (for example, typing “Insta” leaving only Instagram), Auto Launch will instantly trigger the app. It bypasses the need for you to move your finger and tap the result, stripping away an entire physical interaction step.

Advanced Search Capabilities

The Minimaa search bar functions as a mini operating system, allowing you to bypass apps entirely.

You do not need to open a dedicated calculator app to solve daily problems. You can type mathematical equations (e.g., “45 * 12” or “100 / 4”) directly into the universal search bar. The calculation engine will process the equation locally and display the result instantly underneath the bar. Tapping the result will push you into the full Minimaa Math Calculator for further operations.

Minimaa hooks directly into your device’s address book. By typing a friend or colleague’s name into the search bar, Minimaa will instantly generate a rich Contact Card. From this single card, you can immediately initiate a phone call, send an SMS, or launch a WhatsApp conversation, completely bypassing the need to ever open your Contacts or Phone dialer apps.

If you type a query that does not match any installed application, contact, or mathematical equation, the search bar intelligently assumes you are looking for external information. Hitting the “Enter” or “Search” key on your keyboard will instantly launch your default web browser and execute a search for that exact term.

92. Search Engine Selection

Privacy is paramount. You are not locked into Google’s ecosystem. By tapping the small search engine icon located inside the search bar, you can instantly switch the default provider routing your web queries. You can choose privacy-respecting alternatives like DuckDuckGo, Bing, or Yahoo, giving you total control over where your data flows.

Deep Integrations & Action Cards

Minimaa can pull specific functions out of your favorite apps and embed them directly into the launcher interface.

93. Search Integrations

You can enable deep integrations for major third-party applications directly inside the Drawer Settings.

  • YouTube: Type a query into the search bar, then tap the integrated YouTube icon to bypass the app’s homepage and jump straight to the video search results.
  • Spotify: Search for a specific artist or song directly from your App Drawer, bypassing the Spotify feed and its distracting recommendations.
  • Maps: Type an address or location into the Minimaa search bar to instantly initiate navigation without having to open the Maps app first.

94. Search Cards

When you trigger a Contact Search or an Integration Search, Minimaa generates interactive “Search Cards” just below the text field. These are beautiful, minimalist UI blocks that present you with actionable shortcuts (like “Call”, “Message”, or “Navigate”) organized cleanly without overwhelming the screen.

95. Configuring Default Actions

Minimaa learns how you operate. If you generate a Contact Search Card, you can double-tap any of the action buttons to set it as a default. For example, if you always communicate with your partner via Telegram rather than standard SMS, you can configure their specific Contact Card to always default to Telegram messaging, making future interactions completely seamless.
