Part 9: Quick Settings & Gestures
64. Quick Settings Panel
The Quick Settings Panel acts as a central hub for fast customization. By long-pressing on the home screen (or swiping, depending on your layout), you can instantly access toggles for changing your home style, theme, or diving deeper into the main settings menu without having to hunt for the settings app.
65. Long Press Gesture
In Minimaa Settings > Gestures, you can configure what a long-press on the home screen does. By default, it opens the Quick Settings Panel, but you can map it to open specific apps (like Chrome), or launch system shortcuts.
66. Swipe Down for Notifications
You can enable a global “Swipe Down” gesture on the home screen to instantly pull down your Android system notification shade. This is perfect for large phones where reaching the top of the screen is difficult.
67. Double Tap to Lock
Enable the “Double Tap” gesture to instantly lock your phone and turn off the screen by simply double-tapping an empty area on your home layout.
68. Custom Gesture Actions
Minimaa allows you to map custom actions to various gestures (like swiping up, down, or double-tapping). You can use these to launch specific Detox tools or perform system actions.
69. Launching Apps with Gestures
You can map a gesture to instantly launch your most-used application. For example, a long-press can be configured to bypass the app drawer entirely and open your browser or camera.
70. Motion Gestures (Beta)
Minimaa is actively testing hardware Motion Gestures. Note: This requires Accessibility Permissions to function.
71. Shake Actions
You can configure your phone to perform an action (like turning on the flashlight or opening a specific app) simply by shaking the device.
72. Tilt Actions
Tilt your phone forward or backward to trigger mapped shortcuts. This is a hands-free way to interact with your launcher.
73. Sensitivity Controls
Because Motion Gestures rely on hardware sensors, you can adjust the sensitivity of the shake and tilt actions to ensure they don’t trigger accidentally while walking or moving.
