Customizing the HUD
The Heads-Up Display (HUD) is the core of MINIMAA’s home screen. It provides essential info—date, battery, and weather—at a glance without distracting widgets.
Mapping App Shortcuts
You can tap parts of the HUD to launch your preferred applications. By default, MINIMAA tries to detect your system defaults, but you can override them:
- Navigate to
Settings > Home Screen > HUD Configuration. - Clock Tap: Select which app opens when you tap the time (e.g., Google Clock, Alarmy).
- Calendar Tap: Choose your preferred calendar app.
- Battery Tap: Map this to system battery stats or a battery-saving utility.
Search Engine Selection
MINIMAA supports a quick-access search bar that respects your privacy. To change your search engine:
- Open
Settings > Search. - Choose from the available providers:
- Google: Standard global search.
- DuckDuckGo: Privacy-focused search.
- Brave: Optimized for the Brave browser ecosystem.
- Bing: Microsoft’s search engine.
- Ecosia: Environmentally friendly search.
Visibility Toggles
If you want an even cleaner look, you can hide specific elements of the HUD in Settings > Home Screen > HUD Visibility. You can toggle:
- Battery Percentage
- Date & Day
- Current Weather
- Search Bar
[!TIP] Use the “OLED BLACK” theme in conjunction with a hidden HUD for the ultimate minimalist “invisible” phone setup.
