The De-Google Toggle
For users looking to distance themselves from the Google ecosystem without sacrificing Android’s flexibility, we introduced the De-Google Toggle.
Located in Settings > Search, this feature:
- Switches all system-wide search shortcuts to DuckDuckGo or Brave.
- Removes Google-specific tracking hooks from the HUD.
- Simplifies the UI to focus on local storage rather than cloud-pushed content.
Mastering the Detox Zone
The Detox Zone isn’t just a list of hidden apps—it’s a psychological barrier. By moving time-syncing apps like TikTok or Instagram into the Detox Zone, you add two intentional steps to the process of opening them:
- Intentional Navigation: You have to swipe to a specific area.
- Delayed Gratification: The slight delay and optional grayscale mode for these apps help break the dopamine loop.
How to Start Your Detox
- Identify the Top 3 apps that waste your time.
- Move them to the Detox Zone.
- Set a Detox Schedule (e.g., 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM) where these apps are completely hidden from the HUD.
