Privacy Policy for Minimaa Launcher

Minimaa is built with a "Privacy First" philosophy. We believe your data belongs to you, and your phone should be a tool for focus, not a source of surveillance.

1. Zero Data Collection

Minimaa does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.

  • No Analytics: We do not use Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, or any other tracking tools.
  • No Crash Reporting: We do not use Crashlytics or Sentry. We value your privacy over automated bug reports.
  • No Personal Data: We do not have access to your contacts, messages, email, or files.

2. Technical Guarantee: Offline by Design

Minimaa is physically incapable of sending your data anywhere because it does not have the INTERNET permission declared in its Android Manifest.

  • All processing happens locally on your device's CPU.
  • Your settings, app lists, and usage statistics never leave your phone.

3. Permission Usage

We only request permissions that are essential for launcher functionality and focus-related features. Every permission is used exclusively for local logic:

  • Notification Access (BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE): Used to silence pings from blocked apps and to show current music playback controls on your home screen. Contents of notifications are never stored or uploaded.
  • Accessibility Service (BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE): Used solely for "Web Detox" to monitor browser URLs and block distracting websites. We do not observe keystrokes, passwords, or any other on-screen content.
  • Usage Stats (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): Used for "Mindful Pause" to detect when you open a distracting app so we can show you a focus challenge.
  • Activity Recognition (ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION): Used to access the hardware pedometer sensor for local step tracking. We do not track location or sleep.
  • Query All Packages (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES): A standard launcher permission used to build your app drawer list.
  • Set Wallpaper (SET_WALLPAPER): Used to set a pure black background for a distraction-free aesthetic.

4. Third-Party Services

Minimaa does not include any third-party SDKs, advertisements, or cloud integrations.

5. Google Play Policy Compliance

Minimaa complies with Google's Limited Use policy. Data accessed through sensitive permissions is used only to provide and improve user-facing features that are prominent in the app's interface.
